While Texas’s primary care physicians comprise approximately 35% of the active physician workforce in the state, primary care only makes up for 6-7% of Texas’s overall healthcare spending. Concurrently, while per capita healthcare spending in Texas continues to rise, the proportion of primary care spending of the total healthcare spending remains the same. Join TPCC and Milbank Memorial Fund as they share their research and efforts from across the U.S. on how greater investments and focus on primary care can achieve the Quadruple Aim. Specifically, this session will highlight strategies and successes from states and communities that have been successful in prioritizing primary care and share practical approaches to move the needle in Texas.
